This book is about Hazel. She has cancer and is going to die. She meets this boy Augustus at a support group. He has lost his leg to cancer. This is the story of their friendship and love.
I had some high expectations when I started listening to this audiobook, which I highly recommend you do as well. I heard so many good things about this book that I was worried that it would not meet those expectations. I'm happy to say I was wrong.
The Fault in Our Stars exceeded all my expectations. As I listened to the narrator, Kate Rudd, I couldn't help but be drawn into Hazel's world. She was a strong character. I felt a real connection to her.
I also adore Augustus. He was so funny. I like the friendship he had with Isaac as well.
The ending was so touching I couldn't help but cry.
Like Hazel with the Imperial Affliction, I wonder what happened to Hazel after the book ended. I don't think the book could have ended on a better note though. It was sad yes but beautiful too.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.
My next planned review is on 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher.
