Review for Riot by Sarah Mussi
I got this book as an ARC from Netgalley.
In the near future, Great Britian suffers from rising unemployment, overflowing prisons, and a maxed out population. The solution is forced sterilization for the unemployed and uneducated. Tia Thompson starts a group under the alias EVE, to protest the "Snip" Bill. What starts as a peaceful protest spirals into violence and riots. Cobain is a hooligan and an example of what the government says is wrong with the country. Together they must stop the "Snip" Bill or die trying.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were engaging and easy to connect with. I found Tia was strong even when it seemed like sha wanted to give up and Cobain cares even though he acts like he doesn't
The book was fast paced. There was a short period where the action slowed down, but it did not take away from my enjoyment of the story.
The only thing i didn't like was the way some crucial information was delivered. It was dry and boring. It could have been delivered in a more interesting manner.
I gave this book 4/5 stars and i highly recommend it.
